Artist's Description

La Roque-Gageac is a medieval village beside the Dordogne River in Nouvelle Aquitaine, France. A majority of its buildings line the narrow strip on a major road between a flood wall and soaring cliffs. While several buildings are built into the cliff face above. This part of France features many châteaux built on rocky outcrops overlooking the wide Dordogne river. During turbulent times, many people lived in fortified dwellings built into caves. Dai Wynn painted this scene on canvas panel. He used one of his his own reference photos taken several years ago. 20.3 cm high by 25.4 cm wide by 0.3 cm deep approximately.
