Description
King Island lies in the middle of windy Bass Strait, between Tasmania and the Australian mainland. Currie is the largest town on the island of 1700 residents, several hundred thousand cattle and more than a million wallabies. King Island is famous for its challenging golf courses, its surf breaks and relatively mild climate. Industries are tungsten mining, beef cattle, cheeses and bull kelp which is exported to Norway for an amazing array of products.
This view of Currie Beach is beside the golf course and the kelp drying racks.
