Artist's Description

Rue Maxence de Damas in Hautefort, Nouvelle Aquitaine, France. The circular tower and cupola of the Château d'Hautefort against an amazing cloud formation form an impressive backdrop. Ink and watercolour painting by Dai Wynn on 300gsm Arches cotton paper. Interestingly, Google Streetview in January 2011 depicts a fairly diminutive well (puits) with a simple shingled roof. When we visited in September 2017, it had been replaced with the magnificent multi-domed, bent-wood, slate-shingled cupola to match that of the château.
