Artist's Description

This is a view of the Catholic Parish Church of The Sacred Heart (Katholische Pfarrkirche Herz Jesu) above the village of Flüelen in Switzerland. Here train passengers alight at the station and walk a short distance to the dock on the south-eastern end of Lake Lucerne. A paddle steamer then takes them to the city of Luzern (Lucerne) near the head oif the lake, stopping frequently at villages and lakeside hotels on the shores of this beautiful body of water. I have used artistic licence to refrain from painting in several dozen overhead wiring masts along the intercity railway.
